Baked Pasta Italiano


Serves 6

  • 1 Package Valdigrano® penne pasta.
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoon butter
  • 2 Boneless and skinless chicken breast, diced medium
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced fine
  • 1 Italian sausage, sliced medium
  • 1 Jar pasta sauce, 32 oz.
  • 1/4 Cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 Tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 Cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 Cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:

  1. Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Place in colander and rinse with cold water.
  2. Heat a large pot over medium high heat for one minute. Add the oil and butter and swirl to coat well. Add the diced chicken and sauté until a light golden brown. Add the garlic and sausage and sauté’ for one minute.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and add the pasta sauce, ricotta cheese, cayenne, paprika and chili powder. Stir to incorporate.
  4. Add the drained pasta to the pot and mix well. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and top with the two cheeses. Bake at 375 degrees until cheese melted and browned (about 15 minutes).
